A Universal Framework for Field Robotics
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper present a .general .paradigm for the development of mixed. man .and robot systems for the .execution of industrial fieldwork operations. The theory covers both animate and .inanimate fieldwork systems and is based upon the idea of behaviour programmable physical.action units and modules. The paper gives examples .of the theory's use to model dynamic systems composed of individual systems and fleets of, disparateform, active agents. Some emerging applications of mixed fleet robot systems in construction, agriculture, forestry and mining are presented.

Analysis of Motion of Micro-Gripper Exposed to the Electric Field and Thermal Stresses for Using in Micro-Robotics
Micro system technology is a relatively new scientific research that deals with the development and study of properties of materials in micro dimensions. Micro-grippers are widely used in switching, positioning, and assembling micron sized components in micro-robotics. In this study, the static and dynamic behavior of visco-elastic Micro-Tweezers under the thermal and electrostatic field is...
متن کاملDesign and Implementation of Universal Modulator using Two- Level Pipelined Cordic Structure
Different architectures have been proposed for FPGA implementation of Universal Modulator. The Look up table (LUT) technique is one way of realizing universal modulator. Here the CORDIC is used for efficient realization of Universal Modulator. The coordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) algorithm is widely used in various technological fields such as digital signal processing (DSP), biome...
متن کاملA Framework for Integrating Symbolic and Sub-Symbolic Representations
This paper establishes a framework that hierarchically integrates symbolic and sub-symbolic representations in an architecture for cognitive robotics. It is formalised abstractly as nodes in a hierarchy, with each node a sub-task that maintains its own belief-state and generates behaviour. An instantiation is developed for a real robot building towers of blocks, subject to human interference; t...
متن کاملMacroscopic analysis of robot foraging behaviour
Microscopic analysis is a standard approach in the study of robot behaviour. Typically, the approach comprises the analysis of a single (or sometimes a few) robotenvironment system(s) to reveal specific properties of robot behaviour. In contrast to microscopic analysis, macroscopic analysis focuses on averaged properties of systems. The advantage is that such a property is easier to generalise ...
متن کاملHow to Integrate Sustainability in Technological Degrees: Robotics at UPC
Embedding Sustainability in technological curricula has become a crucial factor for educating engineers with competences in sustainability. The Technical University of Catalonia UPC, in 2008, designed the Sustainable Technology Excellence Program STEP 2015 in order to assure a successful Sustainability Embedding. This Program takes advantage of the opportunity that the redesign of all Bachelor ...
